UNA Coventry News February 2017

Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances, Shagufta Hamid-Khan Chair of UNA Coventry has had to cancel the Gala Dinner to celebrate International Women's Day. She apologises for any disappointment this may cause.

However, by way of compensation, the Director General of the UN Office at Geneva, Michael Moller, will speak at Warwick Congress 2017 on the subject of "UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals". We cannot claim credit for organising this but we recommend anyone who can to attend the event. Details below.

In January we ran an extremely instructive presentation and simulation of a Model United Nations. We have produced a video of this event and two of the school-children who attend wrote a report. Links to both of these, plus more information about MUNs, are given below.

We also attended the Coventry Youth Council who have agreed to help guide the Coventry Schools Peace and Justice Forum in formulating their plans. We will also be creating a website for them in the coming month.

Our next event will be on the subject of "Why Brexit & Trump, and What’s Next?" to be held on 1 March. We hope you will be able to attend. Link below.
