Dear Reader,

As this newsletter goes out the world is in the early stages of coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, a number of events which we advertised last month has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation. However, it's not all bad news.

For a wonderful new website has been created to allow communities, groups and even families to run free, easy, high-quality video conferences to help us all communicate at this time of limited free movement. Find more information below about Coventry TeleConferences.

One of the events they will run is our climate change debate on 23 April. The motion is "This house believes that climate change is a far bigger threat than COVID-19". That should give you something to get your teeth into as you huddle down at home. Book your place soon at https://unacov.uk/events/climate-change-debate/.

Below you will also find information about how the UN is helping the world to cope with this emergency, and also some thoughts about what lessons the international community needs to learn in order to cope with future crises.

Please stay safe and be considerate of others.
