One Planet Summit
On 12 December 2017, two years after COP21 created the Paris Agreement, the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, the President of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, addressed the ecological emergency for our planet by calling together in Paris international leaders and committed citizens from around the world at the One Planet Summit.
At the heart of the Summit, some 20 projects were showcased. These projects were presented during the round tables in the morning, the Climate Agora at lunchtime and during the afternoon sessions. They illustrated the fact that concrete local and global solutions exist to address the challenges we face. They need to be stepped up and replicated, and to serve as a source of inspiration around the world. They demonstrate that the participants are committed to a new world, to preserve the future of our one and only planet.
Donald Trump was not invited to the Summit.
