What is the UN Pact for the Future?
Adopted by UN Member States at the Summit of the Future in September 2024, the Pact for the Future is a groundbreaking international agreement outlining 56 commitments aimed at shaping a more peaceful, sustainable, and inclusive world.
Key themes include:
Strengthening multilateralism and international cooperation
Accelerating progress toward the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Promoting international peace and security, including calls to reform the UN Security Council
Empowering youth and future generations
Enhancing digital cooperation and governance through a Global Digital Compact
Advocating for science, technology, innovation, and responsible AI governance
Georgiana is Vice-Chair & UN Engagement Lead for United Nations Association Scotland. Georgiana is a UN Youth Delegate and international consultant who served as a delegate to the UN Summit of the Future at UN Headquarters in New York. As Vice-Chair of the United Nations Association Scotland, she has played a leading role in youth consultation processes and high-level UN panels between January 2023 and September 2024.
Georgiana`s work has focused on:
Inclusive youth engagement in global decision-making
Women’s leadership in peacebuilding
Advancing nuclear disarmament dialogues
Promoting transparency and reform within UN institutions
Georgiana brings firsthand insights into the formation of the Pact for the Future and the growing role of youth voices in shaping global governance.
