Introduction

This page summarises what each UNA Coventry teams does.

Climate Change Team

There are many organisations and individuals in Coventry who are doing amazing things to reduce greenhouse gas emissions but about which most people know very little.

The team’s current project therefore consists of researching what people are doing and interviewing those who are taking action. They will then produce podcasts, videos or written reports for publication on Coventry Climate Action Network website (covcan.uk) and elsewhere.

Community Engagement Team

This team aims to organise activities that will inform and engage the public or specific audiences in activities relevant to the aims of the United Nations. For example this will involve giving presentations and running a project to encourage local people to take actions to help improve their environment, reduce their carbon footprint or anything else they choose. They will receive a certificate and perhaps other rewards for taking these actions.

Event Team

This team will organise events such as presentations, debates, street events, lectures, launching new projects and working with other teams to create events such as perhaps running a climate change song competition.

Social Media Team

Effective participation in social media is key to making people more aware of our activities and broadening public engagement. The team will post information about UNA Coventry activities in creative and attention-grabbing ways.

Website Team

This team creates pages on the unacov.uk and covcan.uk websites and issues the monthly UNACov newsletter.

Join this team if you wish to write articles about any topic relevant to the UN or global issues.
