Vote here for the Questions to be put to UN Secretary-General Candidates
UNA-UK is organizing the first ever UN Secretary-General candidate debates in the UN’s 70-year history.
The events in New York (13 April) and London (3 June), organised in partnership with the Guardian, give global citizens an unprecedented opportunity to interact with candidates and vote on which questions should be asked on the night.
So, what would you ask the next leader of the United Nations?
We want to make the most of this opportunity, and we need your help to do so. Working with Global Citizen and Avaaz, UNA-UK have created an online portal for you to use to submit questions to those vying for the UN’s top job.
Vote now using the form below. The top-ranked questions will be asked at our events
The survey is available in nine languages to ensure members of the public from all corners of the globe are able to participate. Please share this widely with your networks and friends in other countries – we want to ensure a diverse range of voices are heard.
Why does it matter?
For the past 70 years, the UN Secretary-General has been chosen in secret. This opportunity for citizens around the world to interact with candidates represents a major success for UNA-UK and its 1 for 7 Billion campaign, which is calling for a fair, open and inclusive appointment process.
