Stand Up To Racism
The Chair of UNA Coventry, Shagufta Hamid-Khan, attended the Stand Up To Racism demonstration in London on Saturday 18th March. She reports: “At 12 noon 30,000 people marched from Portland place to the Houses of Parliament. Powerful speeches were delivered by MP’s and dignitaries that conveyed the message of resistance, standing up against racism, anti-semitism, Islamophobia and in favour of welcoming refugees and migrants. We carried a massive banner for Coventry City of Peace and Reconciliation which said ‘Love Music – Hate Racism’. I was interview by the media and I promoted the work of UNA Coventry.”
