Eshal Shaukat: 14 years old and Passionate for Environmental Conservation
The amazing Eshal Shaukat is (in 2024) a 14-year-old Pakistani schoolgirl who is passionate about environmental issues and who serves as:
- Chief Youth Pan-Asian Ambassador for World Against Single Use Plastic (WASUP)
- Chief Youth Ambassador for Midland International Aid Trust (UK)
- Chairperson of Midland Aid Trust Pakistan
She is also:
- An active member of the Planetary Health Alliance (USA)
- A representative of the Pakistan Cleft Lip and Palate Association (PCLAPA)
Her commitment to sustainability and health is evident through her co-authored research papers and various initiatives.
Her passion for environmental conservation led her to establish a WASUP plastic recycling unit and plant 300 trees to support ecological restoration.

Her work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on clean water access, hunger eradication, healthcare, and education.
She has installed 30 hand pumps in underserved communities and plans to install 400 more, providing essential clean water.
Through food parcel distributions, she addresses hunger among vulnerable populations.
Her free medical camps offer crucial healthcare services, including cataract surgeries, cleft lip and foot operations, hearing aids, medicines, and medical tests.
To uplift marginalized communities, she provides free education to underprivileged children and organizes summer camps to promote learning and reduce inequalities.
She has also established stitching units for widows, orphans, and poor girls, offering skills training and employment opportunities.
She has been mentored for many years by Professor A R Gatrad OBE DL who is Founder and Chairman of WASUP.
