UNA-UK will hold its annual Peacekeepers Day ceremony on 21 May 2026, ahead of the International Day of UN Peacekeepers on 29 May.

Over nearly 80 years, UN peacekeepers have served in some of the world’s most volatile contexts, helping to guide communities from conflict towards stability and lasting peace. This ceremony is an opportunity to honour their commitment and sacrifice.

For over two decades, UNA-UK has worked closely with UNA Westminster to coordinate this ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall – the largest diplomatic gathering in the UK to mark this important United Nations anniversary.

This year’s ceremony honours the more than 87,000 military, police, and civilian personnel currently serving as UN peacekeepers across the globe. It is also an occasion to remember the more than 4,000 peacekeepers from 128 countries who have lost their lives in the cause of peace.
