Human Rights in Action Selection Process
A selection panel are currently reviewing applications by young people who want to represent UNA Coventry on the Human Rights in Action program 2019. We were delighted to receive 9 applications from young people who live in or near Coventry and who want to go to Geneva to be trained in running a Human Rights project when they return.
The panel will select a shortlist of candidates. During February each shortlisted candidate will present a 3 minute “pitch” to the panel explaining an idea for a human rights awareness raising or education project that they might implement in Coventry in collaboration with UNA Coventry Branch.
The project that the chosen candidate will actually implements need not be the same as the pitch. Their ideas may change between the pitch and when the project starts. The idea of the pitch is for the candidates to demonstrate they are driven, creative, and well-organized.
The winner will be announced during February. They will then need to work to raise the £700 to cover travel, accomodation and participation in the training programme which is organised by the World Federation of United Nations Associations.
