This public panel to be held at the University of Warwick on 6 September will discuss The Transformative Role of Social Reproduction.
Social reproduction (what is often called care work) is vital yet taken for granted in the survival of populations during conflict and the recovery from conflict. Yet, the labour of care is hardly recognized or resourced in post-conflict reconstruction. This negatively affects women whose paid and unpaid care is assumed to be an elastic and self-renewing resource. The panel will discuss the issue of how to support those who care.
