What is this all about?
The basic function of the United Nations is to allow nations to talk instead of fighting. United Nations Association Coventry believes that the same applies to individuals.
In order to live peacefully with people from other countries, religions or cultures, we as individuals need to understand how their families and communities function. But we tend not to speak to such people. By talking to people from different cultures we can all acquire more understanding and so more tolerance of our differences.
United Nations Association Coventry therefore invites the people of Coventry to talk to someone from a different culture, religion or nationality and exchange information about your own backgrounds and cultures.
If you do not know anyone like that, we can help you to find someone to talk to.
Once you have had your conversation, please complete the feedback form below in as much detail as possible before the end of Wednesday, 13 November.
Prizes
We are offering a prize of £125 for the best description of what you learned from the conversation, £75 for the second prize and £50 for the third prize.
We will contact the prize winners soon after the deadline.
