This conference on 14 November is designed for those who might be considering introducing restorative justice (RJ) into their institutions to find out more and meet people who are already delivering it. It is also intended to engage people who are thinking about volunteering as RJ and let them find out more. Finally it is aimed at the wider public, who can explore the benefits of this little-known but very effective way of tackling the consequences of crime and conflict in our everyday lives.
The conference will introduce RJ and allow those who already delivering RJ to showcase their work. It will enable decision makers and the general public to find out more about RJ, help institutions/organisations to explore the costs and benefits of adopting it and present sources of funding available to support its provision.
It will include a Q and A session with a panel of practitioners and a debate on the future provision of RJ training and delivery within the city, including sources of funding.
It will be held in Committee Room 2 of Coventry Council House. Light refreshements will be available.
