On 15 May, Warwick District UNA will host a panel to discuss Warwick District Council’s People’s Inquiry into Climate Change. Warwick District Council represents Warwick, Leamington Spa and Kenilworth.
The Council has adopted a Climate Emergency Action Plan and as a result has initiated a People’s Inquiry for the District. The Council sent out 5000 invitations to residents at random in the District. 5000 letters were sent to local residents and 500 responses were received. 30 people were selected to reflect the district’s population in terms of gender,
age, ethnicity, disability, geography and indices of deprivation. The selection also ensured diversity in terms of attitude to climate change.
The findings/result of the inquiry will be submitted to the Council to discuss its findings.
This panel discussion aims to discover the results of this Inquiry and Council`s future plan on Climate Action.
The panel will consist of:
- Dave Barber: Programme Director Climate Change at Warwick District Council
- Nat Dyakov-Richmond: Participant and a member of the Inquiry
- Co-Chair: Chris Philpott, an Author on Environmental issues & Green Activist & UN Association member
