Litter Pick Swanswell Park Photos
Members of Sikh Sangat from Gurdwara Gurn Nanak Prakash on Harnall Lane Joined the Muslim Community from Eden Girls School with the Christian Community to participate in the ‘Great British September Clean’ to clean Swanswell Park, the local park serving the area previously known as the ‘Religious Square Mile’.
This was first interfaith litter pick. Each member came dressed in appropriate PPE and maintained social distancing rules. Our local Police Community Support Officers came to help too! As you can see, several bags of rubbish were collected. Members of the public thanked the youngsters for their efforts.
The young people reflected that park was a lovely calming, environment. They loved the swans and ducks and made the following suggestions:
1. They would like to plant some flowers and create a herb garden.
2. They would like to support lots of activities during school holidays so children in the locality had something to do that did not cost their parents a lot of money.
It was difficult for the young people to talk in depth as they were socially distance. All involved would like to repeat the event and consider what else they can do together.
Thanks go to the children who attended, Eden Girls School, Gurdwara Guru Nanak Prakash Ji, the local churches, United Nations Association Coventry Branch, SACRE and the Sacred Space Initiative group,
