Has the UN and the International Community abandoned Burma ( Myanmar) and its people?
Zoya Phan is one of Burma’s leading democracy activists in Europe working to promote human rights, democracy and development in Burma. She has met twice with former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, the leader of the UK Conservative Party and later Prime Minister David Cameron, and other senior politicians from around the world. She is regularly featured in international media including BBC and Al Jazeera. She is also Programme Director for Advance Myanmar, working to empower grassroots organisations, and provide assistance for activists and displaced civilians in Burma.
She is a director of Phan Foundation, which aims to preserve Karen culture, promote human rights, fight poverty and provide education for Karen people. She is on the board of the European Karen Network. She is recognised as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. She is also a fellow of TED Global, Rising Talent for Women’s Forum, and a member of Young Professionals Network of the UN Association of the UK (UNA-UK). Her autobiography is published as ‘Undaunted’ in the USA and ‘Little Daughter’ in the rest of the world.
Burma Campaign UK works for human rights, democracy and development in Burma. It is one of the leading Burma campaign organisations in the world and plays a leading role in raising awareness about the situation in Burma, and pressuring the international community to take action in support of the people of Burma.

The meeting will take place at Leamington Spa Baptist Church (Warwick Hall), Chandos Street, CV32 4RN from 12:15 pm to 1:45 pm.
